Russia does not negotiate on establishment of new overseas naval bases, reported RIA Novosti citing a source in the military.

Commenting recent statements of Russian president about intentions to found military bases abroad, the source underlined that the question was only about status of existent bases, i.e. "to let them operate lawfully".

"We do not negotiate on any new bases", said the source.
