Triumphant withdrawal of 4-gen nuclear-powered ballistic submarine (SSBN) Alexander Nevsky from covered slipway was postponed today at Sevmash shipyard (Severodvinsk) due to bad weather, reported the shipyard's press service to the Central Navy Portal.

Now it is 25 below zero and clouds in Severodvinsk. Expectedly, the temperature will drop down to minus 30. Although exact date of the sub's withdrawal has not been determined so far, Alexander Nevsky is planned leave covered slipway in the first half of Dec.
SSBN Alexander Nevsky was laid down on March 19, 2004. Lead ship is SSBN Yury Dolgoruky was laid down in 1996, launched in 2008 and passes state trials. Third sub – Vladimir Monomakh – which was laid down in 2006 is under construction. Defense ministry is about to build eight subs of Project 955/955A up to 2017; they are to become the core component of Russia's naval strategic nuclear force.
