The most up-to-date naval base for nuclear submarines has been established in Viliuchinsk (Kamchatka), reported RIA Novosti referring to Admiral Sidenko, Eastern Military District Commander.

"Nowadays we reconstruct the whole basing infrastructure. Those are quaysides, hydraulic structures, and electric power facilities, which will make possible to base nuclear subs safely. That is why, Viliuchinsk has been revived and is currently a base ideal for modern nuclear subs", said the admiral.

Besides, ten new fully-furnished apartment buildings have been built in Viliuchinsk through the recent five years; also, four 5-storey buildings have been reconstructed, sports center with water park and "what is the most significant – the first artificial ice rink in Kamchatka" were built, Sidenko said. Additionally, Officer's Club of Viliuchinsk has been restored and hosts various creative collectives.
