Sevastopol and Black Sea Fleet should think of the city's development together – Valery Saratov

"To my huge delight, relations of Sevastopol city administration with Russia's Black Sea Fleet command are same friendly as with Ukrainian Navy. We hold working meetings on Saturdays and share problems with each other. As for me, such regular consultations are very positive".

This was said by Sevastopol mayor Valery Saratov at the press conference summarizing the year of 2010, reported New Sevastopol. He added: "Credit must be given to BSF Commander as he treats all issues of Russia's presence as his personal ones. In my opinion, without his active stand, wage arrears would not have been repaid [over than 7-mln debt to 13th Ship Repair Plant], because he repeatedly brought up this issue speaking to his bosses".

Answering the question about possible handing over of some BSF quays to Sevastopol port, Valery Saratov said that "it is necessary to find a 'fleet-city-development' balance. If the Russian fleet is against any decision, we could not execute it. And if the city opposes any plan, Black Sea Fleet won't do anything with it".
