On Friday Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky arrived to St. Petersburg, reported a spokesman for defense ministry.

Navy Commander inspected St. Petersburg shipyards

"The commander visited Severnaya Verf shipyard and thoroughly inspected ships being built there for the Navy", said the official.
Vysotsky boarded corvette Soobrazitelny and frigate Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov, and listened to reports on the work progress.
Corvette Soobrazitelny is going to join Baltic Fleet. The ship's displacement is 2,000 tons; length is over 100 meters; speed is up to 27 knots; operational range is 4,000 miles. The corvette is designed for littoral operations, antisurface and antisubmarine warfare, and fire support of landing operations.
Lead ship of Project 22350 frigate Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov was laid down at Severnaya Verf in 2006. Ships of this project are designed for littoral and deep-sea operations, and can be also used in ocean zones. Displacement of these ships is about 4,500 tons; length is over 130 meters; beam is about 16 meters; operational range is more than 4,000 miles. The frigate has unlimited navigability, and is equipped with state-of-the-art missile and artillery systems, communication and navigational facilities.
