Russian Coast Guard ships monitor radiation level at sea

As of 9 am (local time), radiation background was normal, no deviations were detected. Natural background in Sakhalin is 17 micro-roentgens per hour; acceptable radiation is 30 micro-roentgens, reported press service of Russian EMERCOM, Sakhalin branch.
Intense monitoring over radiation environment is in progress; units of various agencies are involved. Observation data is transmitted to crisis center in Sakhalin every two hours. Nothing threats to the population.
Another explosion occurred in Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Tuesday morning. There's a threat of damaged reactor coolant system.
Representatives of Tokyo Electric Power said radiation level near the nuclear power plant had risen up to 965 microsieverts per hour. All people working at reactor were ordered to evacuate.
Earlier on, hydrogen explosions burst at first and second nuclear units, although did not damage reactors.
