Flagship of Caspian Flotilla (CF) frigate Tatarstan will be recommissioned into the flotilla after repair in June, reports RIA Novosti referring to a spokesman for the Navy.

Now the ship is at the closing stage of scheduled repair performed by Volga-Caspian Ship Repair Plant, said the official.

"The sea trials are scheduled in June; then the ship will return to permanent deployment site", said the interviewee.

Frigate Tatarstan is designed for antisubmarine/antisurface/antiaircraft warfare as well as other tasks like ship/convoy escorting, patrols, protection of state border and maritime economic zone. The ship is armed with powerful missile, antiaircraft, artillery, antisubmarine, and antitorpedo weapons.
