Ukraine hopes to complete negotiations on draft agreements regulating presence of Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) in its territory, said Ukrainian foreign minister Konstantin Grischenko at the session of Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental committee.

"We must complete talks on draft agreements regulating BSF deployment in Ukraine. We have some progress, and I think what we need is just to activate this work", Grischenko said.

Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich promised to settle the BSF issue without prejudice to "strategic friendly relations with Russia". Deployment term of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in Crimea was extended for 25 years after 2017 with possible further prolongation.

Ukraine and Russia agreed upon intergovernmental draft agreement regarding movements of BSF military units over Ukraine beyond their basing sites.

According to Ukrainian foreign ministry, preparation of Russian-Ukrainian agreement on joint disaster prevention and response with use of Russia's Black Sea Fleet is at closing stage.
