United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will present crucially new project of littoral ship to the Navy command late in the current year.

"I cannot detail on this project because a tender is held. Obviously, that is very interesting and extraordinary project", said USC president Roman Trotsenko in Kaliningrad.

A new littoral ship has displacement of 2,000 tons and is meant for green-water operations. It is planned to build it under new organizational principle as a standard platform which can be filled with needed modular armament, explained Trotsenko. By the way, the platform can be constructed by civilian shipyards. New ship would have landing port for helicopters and UAVs. "Apparently, a low-displacement ship is unusual from the viewpoint of construction process and its capabilities", concluded USC president.
