Severomorsk called at Djibouti port

Northern Fleet (NF) large ASW ship Severomorsk called at Djibouti port on June 11.

The formal visit of the Russian warship lasts till June 14. Russian delegation headed by ambassador Valery Orlov boarded Severomorsk in the port. Also, the cruise commander paid a social visit to the Chief of Staff of Djibouti's armed forces.

During the visit to the Djibouti, Russian officers met with representatives of EU joint naval operation Atalanta and discussed anti-piracy issues.

On June 12, the solemn flag-hoisting ceremony and an official banquette on occasion of the Russia's Day were held on board Severomorsk.

The crew had sightseeing tours to historical and cultural sites of Djibouti. Locals had an opportunity to visit the Russian warship.

Large ASW ship Severomorsk sailed off the NF main base Severomorsk on May 8. Djibouti became the third foreign call port of this long-range cruise.
