Russian warships continue to secure commercial shipping in the Gulf of Aden and near the Horn of Africa, reports Northern Fleet Information Support Group.

On June 22 Northern Fleet (NF) large ASW ship Severomorsk completed escorting of the first 7-ship civilian convoy through the piracy-hazardous waters and started to escort the next convoy consisting of 4 vessels.

Arms and equipment of the ship operate normally. The crew of NF large ASW ship Severomorsk keeps watch in accordance with the cruise schedule.

Regular presence of Russian Navy's warships in piracy-dangerous regions is provided by Naval Force Employment Plan 2011.
