JSC Severnaya Verf shipyard received tens of billions rubles as government guarantee for state defense order execution.

Corresponding governmental decree No. 1575 was signed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Sept 8, 2011. According to the document, the guarantee is extended up to the end of 2015.

"Such decree indicates high confidence that Russian government has in Severnaya Verf", said the shipyard's Director General Andrei Fomichev. As for him, "Severnaya Verf is the only Russia's shipbuilding company executing state defense order 'to a day'. The yard closely interacts with defense ministry. All problematic issues were settled on the daily basis, and governmental guarantee granted to the shipyard is one of results of that work".

For JSC Severnaya Verf, extension of governmental guarantee means the beginning of steady financing and batch production of ships for Russian Navy, concluded Andrei Fomichev.

According to State Arms Program 2011-2020, Severnaya Verf must deliver to Russian Defense Ministry a 6-ship series of Project 23180/23185 corvettes (modernized Project 23180) till 2018, and a 6-ship series of Project 22350 frigates till 2020. At present, Severnaya Verf builds four Project 20380 corvettes, two Project 22350 frigates, and one Project 18280 special-purpose communication ship for Russian Navy. As was previously reported, governmental decree appointed JSC Severnaya Verf the sole deliverer of Project 22350 frigates and Project 20380 corvettes.
