For the first time in 20 years Russian Coast Guard ship pays official visit to Ukrainian port.

In the morning of Sept 21, Russian Coast Guard ship Krasnodarets moored at Balaklava (Ukraine), reports RIA Novosti.

Ukrainian Coast Guard ships have called at Russian ports many times. Mainly, the purpose of such visits is to practice joint actions against illegal fishery, poaching, and other violations in Russian and Ukrainian territorial waters. Visit of Russian frontiersmen is quite an event, told Sevastopol Coast Guard Flotilla Deputy Commander Capt 2 rank Yury Aleinikov to RIA Novosti.

"We are very pleased to host Russian counterparts for the first time in 20 years; we have been fruitfully cooperating with them for a long time. Through 3 days of their visit we're going to practice joint maneuvering, detention tactics, and some other special elements. Surely, this experience will enrich our cooperation and be of much benefit both to Russian and Ukrainian frontiersmen", said the interviewee.

Coast Guard ship Krasnodarets is operated by Russian Federal Security Service (FSB); she will stay in Balaklava Bay for 3 days and conduct over 40 joint activities with Ukrainian border guards.
