JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (Severodvinsk, Russia) will lay keel for a new armament transport ship for Russian Navy late in Nov 2011, reported the regional government press service on Oct 28.

The contract for the ship construction was tied with Russian defense ministry in Sept 2011. According to the press service's release, the ship's length will be 112 meters, and displacement – about 6,000 tons.
Cost and terms of the contract are not specified.
Zvezdochka shipyard is a diversified shipbuilding enterprise. It has two covered slipways with 7 shipbuilding sites which are designed for overhaul and construction of vessels with launching mass up to 18,000 tons. 100% minus 1 share belongs to Northern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (affiliate of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation).
