SSGN Severodvinsk Completed Test Plan 2011

Lead sub of Project 885 nuclear-powered attack submarine SSGN Severodvinsk on Dec 20 returned to outfitting quay of Sevmash shipyard from the last in 2011 sea trial.

The submarine was met by acting director general of Sevmash Sergei Marichev and White Sea Naval Base Commander Capt 1 rank Viktor Liina. Members of the shipyard's trial team greeted submariners returned from the sea.

According to Valery Dobrovolsky who is responsible for delivery of SSGN Severodvinsk, the sortie program was completed in full, and all trials planned for 2011 has been finished. Trial team and the crew headed by Capt 1 rank Sergei Mityaev displayed high responsibility and professional skills resulted in safe conducting of the first phase of sea trials. In the coming year, the newest Russian submarine will face other serious tasks, in particular, tests of navigation systems, sonars, and missile launchers.
