Pacific Fleet (PF) task unit headed by large ASW ship Admiral Tributs keeping anti-piracy watch in the Gulf of Aden held joint drill with ships of NATO's Task Force 508.

PF mariners practiced underway replenishment along with Turkish frigate TCG Giresun, Spanish supply ship Patiño, and American destroyer USS Halsey.

Uniqueness of the drill lied in the fact that Russian and NATO ships practiced water and fuel underway replenishment for the first time ever.

It was a revelation to NATO officers when Russian naval mariners demonstrated astern replenishment performed by tanker Pechenga and large ASW ship Admiral Tributs.

When the drill was over, parties met on board Admiral Tributs and discussed further practical activities in supplies replenishment, medical assistance and other issues of anti-piracy campaign in the Gulf of Aden.
