Baltic Fleet Private Armed with Kalashnikov Rifle Lost

03/15/2012
Text: Vzglyad
A private serving in one of Baltic Fleet (BF) units got lost, reported a source in Baltic Fleet HQ on March 14, having stressed that the serviceman had a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Baltic Fleet searches for a serviceman armed with Kalashnikov rifle, the source told Interfax.

"Serviceman of a Baltic Fleet military unit got lost being armed with assault rifle and ammunition. Officers of the fleet's investigative department, representatives of deserter's military unit, and regional police are engaged in the search operation", said the source of Interfax.

A criminal case has been initiated on the basis of that fact.

Duty officer of BF Investigative Dept declined to comment the incident.

BF press service did not give comments on that fact either.
