Russian and Chinese Mariners to Train Jointly in Yellow Sea

Russian-Chinese joint naval exercise Maritime Cooperation 2012 will be held in Apr 22-29 in the Yellow Sea. Main objective will be interaction of the two navies in maintaining security of sea lanes.
The exercise will consist of two phases. At first, headquarters and ship crews will train in bases and then practice at sea.
The participants will dispatch over 20 ships will attend the exercise as well as aviation.
Parameters, format and strength of the exercise will be determined during the third round of planning consultation in the nearest time.
