Two Project 12200 Sobol patrol boats (serial numbers 213 and 214) will be launched on Apr 11 and 12 at Almaz Marine Yard for Russian FSB Frontier Service.

Almaz Marine Yard to Launch Two Sobol-Class Patrol Boats

Boats are designed for defense of sea borders, patrolling, search and rescue activities, protection of sea bioresources, and customs operations.
First patrol boat (serial number 213) passed shipyard's trials in the fall of 2011, and will carry out acceptance trials in mid-May 2012. Second boat (serial number 214) will serve at the Far East and maintain security of APEC-2012 Summit in Vladivostok. That is the second Project 12200 Sobol patrol boat built for Far East Coast Guard.
State commission will work at the shipyard since May 10, 2012. Almaz Marine Yard has built 10 Sobol-class boats since 2009; eight of them have been already delivered to customers.
Hull and deck erection of the Project 12200 Sobol patrol boat (designed by Almaz Central Design Bureau) are made of high-strength aluminum alloy. All equipment and materials fully conform to world's highest standards used in building of fast-speed boats.
To improve performance and increase speed, the boat is equipped with bow and stern automatically controlled interceptors.
The boat's length is 27.96 meters; beam is 5.82 meters; full displacement is 58.5 tons; max speed is 50 knots; endurance with passengers on board is 3 days; crew is 9 men.
