When calling at the port of Jidda, Northern Fleet (NF) destroyer Vice Admiral Kulakov was visited by Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Oleg Ozerov.

Making a speech to the crewmen, he pointed out that "it is the first-ever formal visit of Russian warship to Saudi Arabia".

The ship's officers paid courtesy visit to Royal Saudi Navy's Western Fleet Commander. At the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of counter-piracy campaign in the southern part of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The NF destroyer called at the foreign port on May 2 and will leave it in three days.
