Being the second out of three Project 11356 frigates built by JSC Yantar Shipyard (Kaliningrad, Russia) for Indian Navy, frigate INS Tarkash (stands for "Quiver") has completed dockside trials program and on May 24 was transferred to acceptance base in Baltiysk in order to start sea trials.

The ship will pass sea trials in the Baltic Sea and take the sea for the first time late in May. Shipyard's experts, suppliers, and Baltic Fleet (BF) crew will test all onboard systems in practice.

Frigate INS Tarkash was laid down at Yantar on Nov 27, 2007 and put afloat on June 24, 2010. It is planned to deliver the ship to Indian Navy in Oct 2012.
