Lost Pacific Fleet Warrant Officer Found Dead

Warrant officer lost fr om Pacific Fleet (PF) destroyer Admiral Tributs was recently found dead, reports RIA Novosti referring to a source in Pacific Fleet HQ. The sailor's body was found in the Amur Bay near Tavrichanka settlement few weeks after his disappearance.

According to the interviewee, the ship returning from the Russo-Chinese exercise did not head through the area wh ere the body was found. In this connection it was assumed that the warrant officer had left the ship sometime. "Relatives and colleagues have already identified the body; cause of death will be investigated", said the source.

As reported by local information agency PrimaMedia, a cellphone was found in the sailor's pocket. Last time he used that phone when Admiral Tributs was passing by the Povorotny Cape which is over 100 km away from the Amur Bay. In addition, the died mariner had a conflict with one of his crewmates, reports PrimaMedia.

First who noticed the loss was the sailor's wife. He was not on board the ship moored in Vladivostok on May 3. The Russian-Chinese exercise attended by Admiral Tributs took place in the Yellow Sea in Apr 22-27.
