Employee of a sensitive facility in Yekaterinburg Alexander Gniteyev did not appeal from a judgment, reports Interfax referring to press service of Sverdlovsk regional court. As was earlier reported by , Gniteyev was sentenced to 8-year close confinement on a charge of treason against the state. According to investigation, he collected classified data on missile engineering technologies and handed it over to foreign secret services; particularly, in question was new solid-propellant missile SLBM Bulava.

"Since Gniteyev has not appeal within the statutory period till June 5, the judgment comes into effect", the court spokesman told reporters.
Recall that Gniteyev worked in top-secret FSUE Semikhatov Research Institute for Automatics. He was found guilty of treason against the state by way of espionage (Article 275, RF Criminal Code). The Gniteyev's case was controlled by Russian General Procuracy, the trial was held behind closed doors.
Solid-propellant missile Bulava is designed for Borei-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. As is expected, Bulava would be commissioned in the coming fall and strengthen maritime component of Russia's nuclear triad.
