Pacific Fleet (PF) naval aircraft patrolled Russian economic zone in Arctic under scheduled summer training program.

Crews of Tu-142M3 patrol airplanes have carried out all assigned tasks and returned to home airbase in Khabarovsk region. The flights were held within the framework of the government's Arctic exploration program, and in accordance with plans to renovate port infrastructure in northern seas.

During many hours of air patrols, PF naval pilots were performing ice reconnaissance along the Northern Sea Route and practicing pilotage in severe weather conditions.

Presence of PF naval aircraft in distant regions worldwide for the interests of civil shipping has become a regular mission through the recent years. So, the "great circle flights" are routine practice for PF pilots today.
