Northern Fleet (NF) surface ships in cooperation with a nuclear submarine have accomplish training tasks with practical use of arms in the Barents Sea.

The exercise was held by a search/attack ship group comprising ASW corvettes Naryan-Mar and Onega. The crews practiced searching of a nuclear-powered submarine and "destroyed" her by antisubmarine weapons.

During the exercise, the crews have effectively performed torpedo firing and depth charge release drills, as well as practiced joint maneuvering, cooperation and inter-ship communication.

For the crews of ASW corvettes Naryan-Mar and Onega, the recent exercise was a good opportunity to prepare for coming combat training activities to be held with NF surface ships, submarines, naval aircraft, and coast defense troops involved.
