South Korean Warships to Call at Vladivostok

Two ships of South Korean Navy will pay formal visit to Russian port Vladivostok on Sept 16. That will be the first out of three visits of foreign naval ships to Vladivostok scheduled in Sept 2012.

The destroyers will moor at the Korabelnaya Quay. Pacific Fleet (PF) Guards missile cruiser Varyag will act as a host ship. Visit of South Korean naval mariners will last till Sept 18.

Delegation of foreign defense attachés will visit Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Sept 18-21. When in Vladivostok, military diplomats will meet with PF Commander, visit cruiser Varyag, and have a trip to PF Marine Brigade. In Kamchatka, the delegation will meet with Northeast Force Commander and go sightseeing around the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

In Sept 19-22, port of Vladivostok will welcome US Navy's destroyer USS Vandegrift.

Then on Sept 23, Russian mariners will host their Japanese colleagues. Program of the visit includes a joint anti-piracy exercise.
