During the visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin to Bishkek, it was agreed upon status and deployment conditions of the Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as settlement of a $500-mln Kyrgyzstan's debt owed to Russia, reports Interfax.

The bilateral agreement on status and deployment conditions of the Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan signed by the two presidents will come into effect since 2017. It was tied for 15 years with optional prolongation for 5-year long periods. Before 2017, the protocol on military cooperation will be in effect, although some particular provisions become valid right after signing.
It should be reminded that earlier Moscow wanted the agreement to be in force for 49 years while Bishkek insisted on 5-year period. So, one may tell about consensus as both sides came to terms. However, in this issue Kyrgyzstan obviously scored Russia off.
