Works on construction of two Mistral-class amphibious assault ships for Russian Navy are keeping up with schedule, said Jean-Marie Poimboeuf, the president of French industrial group of shipbuilding and naval armaments (GICAN).

Construction of hull sections for the first Mistral-class ship goes on schedule since the beginning of the year in Saint-Nazaire by STX, said the head of GICAN at the press-tour over French shipbuilding assets. As for him, there are no problems with the contract signed by DCNS and Rosoboronexport providing delivery of two Mistral ships to Russian Navy in 2014 and 2015.

Industrial group GICAN (Groupement Industriel des Constructions et Armements Navals) is a French national association of shipbuilding companies which represents interests of French shipbuilding industry.
