BSF Commander Encouraged Sailor Who Saved Man in Distress

Artyom Starostin arrived in Sevastopol for awarding from his duty station in a BSF military unit deployed in Tuapse, Russia. Moving through Tuapse by bus, the serviceman noticed an elderly man lying on the pavement apparently in need of help. Unlike other bypassers, Artyom Starostin decisively asked to stop the bus, got off it and began giving sufferer first aid by stimulating his breath which is normal procedure when epilepsy stroke.
Using his emergency medical treatment skills achieved during military service, the seaman helped the man to restore breath and assisted him until emergency ambulance arrived and so saved his life.
BSF Commander handed over a personal wristwatch to Artyom Starostin and thanked him for decisive and skillful actions when life-saving of a man in distress. Rewarding the sailor, RADM Alexander Fedotenkov emphasized that "senior seaman Artyom Starostin fulfilled a duty of every citizen and serviceman. In critical situation, he behaved just like any defender of the Motherland should".
