The solemn keel-laying ceremony of Project 09852 nuclear-powered research submarine took place today, on Dec 20, at Sevmash shipyard, an insider told Central Navy Portal.

The ceremony was attended by Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief ADM Viktor Chirkov, representatives of United Shipbuilding Corporation, and other officials.

According to available information, the question is a nuclear-powered special-purpose submarine analogous to AS-31 built by Sevmash in 2010 and dubbed in media as Losharik.
