Nuclear security measures taken in Severodvinsk

The shipbuilding enterprises in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, will be equipped with an automated monitoring system of the radiation control, as well as new crisis centres.

A corresponding agreement will be signed by the Arkhangelsk Oblast regional administration, the Federal Agency for Industry, the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the Russia’s Academy of Science, the press service of the Arkhangelsk regional administration reports.

The shipbuilding plant Zvezdochka will act as a project coordinator. The shipbuilding plants Zvezdochka, Sevmash and Onega will be connected to the system by 2010.
