The training ship Perekop of the Baltic Fleet completed her cruise around Europe and arrived to the port of Baltiysk

The training ship Perekop of the Baltic Fleet completed the second and final stage of her long distance sea and ocean cruise around Europe and arrived to the port of Baltiysk - the main naval base of the Baltic Fleet.
During more than three months of the cruise, the ship sailed almost 10 thousand nautical miles, often in harsh stormy conditions. "Over 500 cadets from the naval higher education establishments of Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok completed navigator and seamanship training, had a chance to practice the skills learned in classrooms, and tested their characters as future officers of the Russian Navy."
The commander of the second stage of the cruise, the head of the St.Petersburg Naval Institute, Rear Admiral Yuri Eremin, reported to the commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice Admiral Victor Mardusin that: "The tasks set for the cruise are completed fully."
The Perekop has made port calls to Sevastopol, Novorossiysk as well as Lisbon, Portugal and Oslo, Norway. At each of those port calls, the crew was met with warm welcomes and was able to share the every day lives of their colleagues. There was an exchange of opinions on strengthening of bi-lateral ties and on the methods of training naval cadets. From Baltiysk, the Perekop will set sail for her permanent base in Kronshtadt.
