Rescued Almira G crew safely on shore

The motor ship Lukomorie has brought the nine crewmembers of the Almira G to the Primorie port of Slavyanka, an officer on duty at the Vladivostok Maritime Coordination Rescue Center told Ria Novosti. A fire broke out in the Almira last Friday.
Information about the fire was received by the Center at 01:58 local time (Thursday 18:58 Moscow time). The fire aboard the ship, which was sailing under the Georgian flag and is registered at the port of Batumi, started in the deck erection. The boat originated from South Korea and was en route to the port of Vladivostok, with a cargo of construction materials. At 5:26 a.m. (Thursday 22:26 Moscow time), the Lukomorie took on board nine crewmembers of the distressed ship. Vladislav Ryzhikov, the captain of the Almira G, was recorded as missing.
“Nine crewmembers of the Georgian boat have been taken by the motor ship to the port of Slavyanka, their condition is satisfactory,” the official told Ria Novosti.
Among the rescued are 7 Russian citizens and 2 Filipinos, the official said.
The Vladivostok rescue center had first sent out the Amant, Lukomorie, and the Fesko Ulan-Ude to meet the distressed ship and offer help. At 03:30 local time (Thursday 20:30), the towboat Lazurit and rescue boats Predany and Naporisty left the port of Vladivistok to meet the Almira G.
