Solomonov keeps the post of Director General of Bulava developer institute

09/15/2009  Source: RIA Novosti

Yuri Solomonov will keep the post of general designer of Moscow Thermotechnics Institute – the developer of Bulava and Topol-M strategic missiles, said the head of Roskosmos Anatoly Perminov to reporters.

Solomonov had been combining the posts of Director General and general designer of the institute, but after sequent unsuccessful test launch of Bulava he wrote a letter of resignation from the post of Director General. Sergey Nikulin became a new Director General of the institute.

"I'm sure that Yuri Solomonov will keep the seat of general designer of Bulava and Topol-M missile systems. We recommended to the company administration to begin not with staff changes but with the work", said Perminov.

As to his words, the institute is one of few enterprises which not only survived without any assistance of Roskosmos but has been noteworthily working within its sector of missilery; it has kept the staff and developed manufacturing capabilities.

Bulava missiles are planned to be among weapons of new generation of Russian strategic submarines.
