Investments in two shipyards in Primorsky Krai will make $700 mln

Volume of investments in modernization of two shipyards in Primorsky Krai will make $700 mln, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at the conference on Far East shipbuilding industry development.
"Two good investment projects will be implemented in Primorsky Krai", said Mr. Putin having specified that "total volume of investments will make $700 mln".
"By the way, 75% will be invested by Russian financial resources, Russian financial institutions", underlined the premier. According to him, the question is "construction of a new shipyard meant for production of drilling platforms in Chazhna Harbor; we'll work in cooperation with Singaporean partners there".
"And we plan to build a dry dock and associated manufactures at the area of Zvezda shipyard in Bolshoi Kamen; they will be designed for construction of tankers and liquified gas carriers", said the head of the government.
Mr. Putin is sure that Far East region has all conditions for shipbuilding industry development. "I mean vast market outlet, industrial estates, human resources", he said. The premier reminded that in May 2009 "it was decided to establish a regional shipbuilding and ship repair center here; the plans on building new shipyards capable to produce modern maritime equipment for continental shelf exploration were determined as well".
He mentioned meanwhile that "when starting project implementation, United Shipbuilding Corporation and its partners must be sure in stable and guaranteed demand for equipment produced". Such plan has been already made and assumes orders for civil maritime equipment on about $5 bln till 2020, Putin said.
