Russian Navy launched Sineva

Sea-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) Sineva was launched at the Barents Sea.
The launch was carried out on March 4 at 07.50 am Moscow time by SSBN Tula, informs Interfax. The missile was launched in water area of the Barents Sea.
According to Roskosmos, all launch objectives were achieved.
Missile R-29RMU2 Sineva (code SNV RSM-54, on NATO classification – SS-N-23 Skiff) is Russian three-stage liquid-fueled ballistic missile of 3-gen submarines. It is launched by D-9RMU2 systems placed in Project 667BDRM Delfin submarines. R-29RMU2 is an upgraded version of R-29RM missile developed in 80-ies. It was commissioned on July 9, 2007. It is planned to produce about 100 missiles.
On Oct 11, 2008 during Stability 2008 exercise SLBM Sineva achieved a flight range record of 11,547 km and impacted in equatorial Pacific Ocean. Thus, flight range of Sineva exceeded that of the US most powerful missile Trident-II (11,000 km).
