Russian, Ukrainian warships to call at Nikolayev by May 9

On Victory Day Ukrainian city of Nikolayev will host Russian large landing ship Yamal at suggestion of Black Sea Fleet Commander, said Vladimir Chaika, the city mayor.

At the same time Ukrainian Navy Commander arranged with Nikolayev's mayor about visit of Ukrainian large landing ship Konstantin Olshansky which is going to arrive on May 3. Yamal will visit the city next day, May 4. The ships are expected to stay aboard at lower embankment.

A reception will be arranged in the city hall in honor of the ships' commanding officers; Russian and Ukrainian sailors will have sightseeing tour, visit zoo and theater.

Children's creative teams of Nikolayev will give concerts on decks of both warships.

Finally, Russian and Ukrainian mariners will participate in celebratory parade.
