BSF warship called at Odessa

This morning Black Sea Fleet (BSF) large landing ship Caesar Kunikov moored at Odessa passenger port. The ship is paying friendly visit; 82 BSF marines will participate in military parade on May 9.

Caesar Kunikov is Russian BSF large landing ship (based in Sevastopol, 197th landing craft brigade, 30th surface ships division). The ship is named after Hero of the Soviet Union Caesar L. Kunikov, leader of landing party secured a beachhead "Malaya Zemlya". The ship is under patronage of Zelenograd city.

In Odessa the ship was met by members of Natalia Vitrenko's Party, and Motherland Party with Soviet, Ukrainian, and Russian flags, banners, flowers, and balloons which were consequently thrown in the air.

All visitors are welcomed to attend on-board excursions on May 5 and 7. Russian mariners will stay in Odessa till May 11.
