Russia and Ukraine talked on integration of their shipbuilding industries. Upon results of the discussion, Russian experts will visit Ukrainian shipyards in June 7-11, reported press-release of Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

A working meeting was held in the ministry between Denis Manturov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade (Russia) and Konstantin Kucher, Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy and director of Agency for Military Industrial Complex (Ukraine).

Ukrainian party was also represented by Andrei Pokrishchenko, first secretary of Ukrainian Embassy to the Russian Federation and Georgy Krivov, president of JSC Ukrainian Research Institute for Aviation Technologies.

Manturov marked the significance of the visit and underlined that Russian party was ready for constructive dialogue on a number of bilateral matters. "On the one hand, there are not too much issues but they're quite serious and need specific study as well as delicate approach", he said.

In the framework of the meeting the parties listed working groups which will be responsible for further integration and cooperation in the area of aircraft industry. The parties agreed to conduct a preliminary conference on June 10 in Kiev and talk on critical issues and proposals to create joint venture between United Aircraft Engineering Corporation (Russia) and Antonov Corporation (Ukraine). In addition, the parties agreed to hold first session of the working group late June in Moscow. The delegations decided to work out directions for the development in engine-building matters and to determine basic principles of aircraft industry integration which is planned to be carried out at final stages.

"Ukrainian party is interested not only in use of shipyards as a ship repair bases, we also seek for cooperation in shipbuilding with Russia", said Kucher.
