Landing ship Kaliningrad finished participation in the Kiel Week festival

Baltic Fleet (BF) large landing ship Kaliningrad yesterday finished her visit to German naval base Kiel and laid a course for the Baltic Sea to proceed with the cruise tasks, reported BF Press Service.

"Large landing ship Kaliningrad headed by Capt 2 rank Mikhail Kushnerev accepted an invitation of German Navy and took part in traditional Kiel Week which is an international festival of sailing sports and culture; it implies demonstration of naval flags of the world sea powers", said the BF official.

The Russian warship was one of the most attended and popular vessels among Kiel residents and city guests. Thousands of people visited Kaliningrad during the Open Days including naval servicemen from foreign ships also participated in the Kiel Week, said the spokesman. Crewmembers of large landing ship Kaliningrad took part in numerous sport events, cultural activities, attended sightseeing tours over Kiel and other cities.
