CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The submarine was laid down on April 22, 1993 at Amur Shipyard (Komsomolsk-on-Amur) under the name of B-345; launched on October 6, 1994; commissioned on January 22, 1994. The sub obtained the name of Mogocha in June 2001 when she was taken under patronage of Mogocha town administration.

MILESTONES

In Oct 11-14, 2002 the sub visited Japanese port of Yokosuka with Pacific Fleet task force to attend international naval parade associated with 50th anniversary of Japan Self-Defense Force.

Six 533-mm bow torpedo tubes (18 torpedoes or 24 mines); also suitable for launches of Club-S cruise missiles and Strela-3M/Igla-1 antiaircraft missiles.
