K-114 Tula is Project 667BDRM Delfin nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN).

Northern Fleet, Gadzhievo

CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The submarine was laid down on February 22, 1984 at Sevmash shipyard (Severodvinsk) under the name of K-114; launched on January 22, 1987; commissioned into Northern Fleet on November 5, 1987. The sub obtained the name of Tula on August 21, 1997 when Tula regional administration took her under patronage.

MILESTONES

In Oct 1990 the sub vas visited by General V.M. Kochetov, Soviet Deputy Minister of Defense.

Since June 2000 till April 21, 2004 the sub had been under interim overhaul and modernization at Zvezdochka shipyard, Severodvinsk.

On Dec 17 and Dec 26, 2007 the sub successfully launched ballistic missiles RSM-54 Sineva in the Barents Sea.

On Oct 11, 2008 the sub performed successful launch of ballistic missile RSM-54 Sineva in the Barents Sea. Firstly in Soviet/Russian Navy's history, the impact point was in equatorial area of Pacific Ocean; the missile's flight range was 11,547 km.

On March 4, 2010 the sub successfully launched ballistic missile RSM-54 Sineva in the Barents Sea.

ARMAMENT

The submarine is armed with four 533-mm torpedo tubes; 16 launch tubes of R-29RMU-2 Sineva ballistic missiles; MANPADS 9K310 Igla-1 or 9K38 Igla launchers.
