Project 11982 research ship Seliger built by JSC Yantar Shipyard (Kaliningrad) for Russian Defense Ministry prepares for shipyard's sea trials. The ship will be transferred to acceptance base in Baltiysk on coming Thursday, Apr 12, and then will take the sea for the first time, a source in the shipyard told Central Navy Portal.

Late in March, Seliger left the yard's outfitting quay and was put on deperming station for magnetic field measurement. Deperming is the final stage of mooring trials.

The ship's crew actively assists shipwrights in preparation for sea trials. Commanding officer is Capt Lt Dmitry Cherokov. The crew was formed at Black Sea Fleet as the ship will be based there.

After transfer to Baltiysk, the ship will start shipyard sea trials and then state acceptance trials which are to be completed by the end of summer. After commissioning into Russian Navy, Seliger will head for the Black Sea.
