Key episodes of the Maritime Cooperation 2012 Russian-Chinese joint exercise were practiced in the Yellow Sea.

Early in the morning of Apr 26, Russian and Chinese anti-terror teams assaulted a "pirated" ship. Each side sent four boarding parties on four fast-speed boats. Chinese naval helicopter with assault team onboard took part in the crew-release operation as well.

Later on that day, the participating ships held gun firing drill at a surface target and countered a "submarine" by covering assigned area with depth charges.

Joint antiaircraft missile firing was a culmination of the bilateral exercise.
