Joint meeting of Russian Navy command, directors of the Kuznetsov Naval Academy, and United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) took place in St. Petersburg today.

The meeting was attended by Navy Commander-in-Chief VADM Viktor Chirkov, USC president Roman Trotsenko, and directors of design bureaus.

As a result, it was decided to form a joint working group including representatives of USC, Russian Navy command, and the Kuznetsov Naval Academy in order to optimize line of surface ship types and introduce inter-project unification in prospective ships.

The working group will work on proposals regarding unification of developed projects of ships into one program providing centralized control over projects and standardized variety of systems and modules by common concept of use.

Results of the working group activities will be monthly discussed at meetings of Navy command and USC directors and reported to Russian defense minister.
