The United States are about to hand over up-to-date navigation system to Ukraine free of charge and on permanent basis, reports Ukrainian defense ministry.

American delegation including representatives of munitions command, defense cooperation department of US Embassy to Ukraine, and Sperry Marine Company visits Sevastopol.

According to Ukrainian defense ministry, purpose of the visit is to conduct consultations with Ukrainian Navy command on implementation of the contract providing delivery of navigational equipment under FMF program.

During the visit to Sevastopol the delegation discussed technical and legislative issues of delivery with Ukrainian counterparts, carry out preliminary analysis, and draw required documents. Besides, the guests will visit Ukrainian warships which are to participate in joint operations and exercises.

"According to agreements, Ukrainian Navy will receive a modern navigation system consisting of a radar and equipment for vessel positioning, vessel automatic identification, and laying the course", said Capt 1 rank Andrei Ryzhenko.
