Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms the fact that Ukrainian and Turkish vessels collided on Nov 30.

Media reported Tuesday morning that Ukrainian vessel Sergei Smirnov and Turkish ship Hizir Sofuoglu had collided in Sea of Marmara on Nov 30.

Monday evening "Ukrainian-flagged ship Sergei Smirnov and Turkish-flagged vessel Hizir Sofuoglu collided while passing Dardanelles Strait in the direction of Sea of Marmara", says Tuesday's press release of Ukrainian MFA.

"In consequence of collision (board-and-board) the vessels suffered insignificant damages. There are no victims and sufferers among the crews", says Ukrainian MFA.

The ships resumed sailing after radio message exchange between shipmasters and delivery of related information to Dardanelles Strait maritime traffic control service.

It had been previously reported that the Turkish vessel was heading for Bulgarian port Burgas and Ukrainian ship was returning to home port.
