Three ships arrived yesterday to Sevastopol from Ukraine's South naval base (Novoozernoe, Lake Donuzlav) to attend coming Ukrainian Navy Day parade. Those ships are: the Ukraine's newest small ASW ship Ternopil, large landing ship Konstantin Olshansky (both moored at quay 15, Kurinaya wall), and sea-going minesweeper Chernigov (moored at Streletskaya Harbor). Parade of Ukrainian warships will also host Russia's Black Sea Fleet ship and be conducted on Sunday, July 4 at Sevastopol Bay.

To sea-going minesweeper Chernigov, this is the first trip after long maintenance period; one of two propulsion diesels had been out of service. At present, thank to the crew the minesweeper is reactivated at last.

As of today, Ukrainian Navy numbers 20,000 men and over 30 combatant ships and auxiliary vessels, 4 ASW aircrafts, 8 ASW helicopters, 39 tanks, 178 armored combat vehicles, 66 artillery systems with caliber over 100-mm, and coastal battery of antiship missile systems. The most effective core of Ukrainian Navy comprises 12 warships – one frigate, four corvettes, two landing ships, and five minesweepers.
