R-60

R-60 (hull number 955) is a Project 12411 missile boat designed for destruction of enemy warships, transport and assult vessels, terrorist groups in the sea and in the bases; protection of ships and vessels from surface and air attacks.

CONSTRUCTION

Missile boat R-60 (serial number 207) was laid down at Srednenevsky Shipyard on December 10, 1985; put afloat on December 30, 1986 and commissioned on December 12, 1987 into Black Sea Fleet. R-60 serves in the 41-st Missile Boat Brigade based in the Karantinnaya Bay (Sevastopol).

Late in 2005, the boat was modernized at the Black Sea Fleet 13-th Shipyard (Sevastopol). Instead of two stern gun mounts AK-630, the ship received one module of the Palash gun/missile antiaircraft system, for the first time in Black Sea Fleet. The system consists of two rapid-firing 30-mm six-barreled guns (artillery variant with possible mounting of two quadruple antiaircraft missile launchers).
