Total costs for governmental defense program will reach RUR 22.5 trillion within the nearest 10 years, reported Russian vice-premier Sergei Ivanov.

This statement was made after 16th session of the committee on modernization and national economy's technological development convened on Wednesday.

Ivanov specified that basic terms of defense program on the next 10 years have been already approved; about RUR 19 trillions will be appropriated for the defense ministry, RUR 2.5-3 trillion – for other security agencies having military or equivalent service.

According to the vice-premier, at least 20% of total sum will be spent for research and development projects to create arms applicable to defense ministry, internal troops, or FSB in the nearest 10 years.
